The BIG Coaching Experience
WITH BRIAN BRATTI
Hello & welcome to The BIG Coaching Experience! Here is where you learn not only what to expect in a coaching relationship with me but you also gain an important understanding of what coaching is and what it is not. The truth is many people are misinformed about what exactly to expect from professional coaching. Often, when someone hears the word “coach,” the image of a football coach, telling them what to do and yelling at them if they don’t do it correctly is conjured up in their minds. This is not professional coaching nor is it part of The BIG Coaching Experience. Professional/Executive coaches are change agents who help leaders and professionals take responsibility for their results in life and act to maximize their own personal potential. It’s like having a personal trainer in every aspect of your life or any particular aspect of your life who uses a proven process designed to unlock your potential and maximize your growth so you can achieve your highest good. To help you investigate professional coaching in general and The BIG Coaching Experience in particular, please read the below information. If you want to go deeper and unlock the potential that can only come from professional coaching, feel free to click on the button “Ask About BIG Coaching” at the bottom of the page so we can connect. Thank you for considering Bratti Innovation Group LLC (BIG) for your personal development needs.
For your highest good!

The Difference Between Coaching & Other Methods of Personal Improvement
Mentor Vs. Professional Coach:
Mentor
Uses Support and Accountability to grow you toward a better future
Senior/more experienced person imparts wisdom, experiences, lessons, counsel, etc., to a junior or less experienced person
Draws on personal experiences to teach the mentee
Professional Coach
Uses Support and Accountability to grow you toward a better future
Builds your decision-making ability by helping you think through decisions in a structured and supportive manner
Helps you to learn to think more for yourself rather than teaching you what to do in specific situations
Counselor Vs. Professional Coach:
Counselor
One-on-One relationship focused on your personal growth
Concentrates on helping people get well
Diagnoses a client’s emotional or psychological state to help s/he become whole
Partly focuses on fixing problems from the past
Professional Coach
One-on-One relationship focused on your personal growth
Works with healthy people who want to improve their lives
Pushes you to set goals and take action to better solve problems on your own
Improves your quality of life by focusing on creating your better future
Consultant Vs. Professional Coaching
Consultant
Normally an expert with experience in your industry
Like a mentor, imparts wisdom based on past experience
Paid to analyze and give advice on how to solve a particular problem or set of problems
Provides industry-specific processes to follow for improved results which can either work or not work
Professional Coach
An expert in human growth potential and improvement rather than your specific industry
Refrains from giving you advice because of the belief that you are capable of solving and taking responsibility for your own problems
A change expert and often a generalist who, through the coaching process, assists you in solving your own/organizational problems through a proven professional coaching process.
The BIG Coaching Experience Process
A Relationship-Based, Goal-Driven & Client-Centered Approach
While timeframes and subject matter will vary from client to client, below is a typical outline of what you may expect during a 12 session BIG Coaching Experience. In my experience, some clients have experienced all four of these phases within 12 sessions, others have taken longer than 12 sessions to experience them and still others had the need to experience only one or two phases, dependent on whether the focus on the individual or the organization s/he leads and the scope of the issues being addressed. The process is completely tailored to the client’s particular needs and desires.
Phase 1: The Urgent
The BIG Focus:
Your next week or two (maybe even your next day or meeting!)
Immediate problems and priorities facing you or your organization
Prioritize and put in place concrete plans of action to address and resolve the most urgent and pressing matters you/your organization are facing
Reduce pressure, bring a sense of confidence and calm to your schedule
Quick short wins to improve confidence and bring more peace to your life
Phase 2: The Short-Term
The BIG Focus
Your next year
Transition from reacting to the urgent to anticipating the important
Focus on current habits/personality traits
Begin exploring personal values and measure them against current goals (The Why of You/Your Organization)
Explore improvement to current processes, routines and habits
Increase stability, confidence and dedication to goals
Phase 3: The Mid-Term
The BIG Focus
Your next 1-3 years
Establish yearly goal setting, tracking & accountability methods
Continue process and routine improvement
Continue values exploration and goal alignment
Explore reflection routines for a larger perspective on you/your organization
Work/Life balance
Phase 4: The Long-Term
The BIG Focus
Your next 2-10 years
Assessment of where you/your business are and where you want to be
Explore potential exit strategies for career/business and next career
Continue work/life balance
Continue values/goals alignment
Evaluate significance after success/succession planning
